“Margo, you are not to come in here unannounced. This is a place of business, not a place for you to exercise your tantrums,” Pushing the newspaper back in her direction and not addressing the newspaper issue, Edwin told his wife. Margo fumed at the statement. How dare he talk to me in that manner, she thought to herself. She would not be treated in that manner; after all she had helped to build the empire.
“Edwin, I will not be treated any kind of way. This is embarrassing, my husband parading around with a girl young enough to be his daughter. In fact she is younger than your children. What are you thinking?”
“Margo, I don’t answer to you. In the future you are to be buzzed in like any other client.”
“You will answer to me I am still your wife and I refuse to be buzzed in…”
“Margo, let’s, as the kids say, “keep it real”. You and I have not been happy in a long time. We were just going through the motions. Wife? You’re my wife in name only. Please understand if you cannot come here and behave in a respectable manner, I will have a restraining order put in place.”

Edwin stared into her red eyes. She had been crying and for that he was sorry. He hadn’t wanted her to be hurt by that newspaper article and would have given anything not to have had those pictures and that malicious story printed.
“Margo, leave why you still have some dignity.”
Pushing him in his collarbone, she said, “No. I will not leave. Are you screwing that girl? How long has it been going on?”
“Sit down and lower your voice. I have not and am not currently involved sexually with her or any other woman,” he said and it was the truth. All of the years he was married to her he had never been unfaithful to her in any way. There were many opportunities and women who had flaunted it in his face, but he never indulged himself in such activities. His marriage vows meant something to him and he knew the pain that his mother. Lula had experienced and he vowed he would never treat a woman badly. It bothered him that Margo felt that she was being treated badly now. He was not cheating sexually with Amber, but emotionally he was; however, he would not say that to Margo. What about his feelings? Had she ever considered how he would feel if and when he learned the secrets of her past? He could divulge that information in the divorce hearing, but he told his attorney, Nicole Rouse, that he would like to have as amicable a divorce as possible. He wondered if it were possible to have such a thing. Nevertheless, he did not bring up his wife’s past if he could avoid it. Now if she wanted to play dirty, then he would be forced to play dirty...
